It’s safety first at Rockgas Cambridge. We take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our customers. That’s why our technicians carefully monitor each and every cylinder for maintenance or expiration.  A leak-test is also performed at each delivery to ensure the setup is running as it should. Note: This test includes the cylinder connection point and hoses to the regulator only, all other checks should be performed by a qualified Gasfitter. The cylinders are made to endure extremely high pressures and heat.  Even in an extreme fire, our cylinders will not explode. In order to lower pressure, it is also normal that a small amount of gas is released in controlled bursts.

While smelling LPG is not always a sign of danger, there can be several reasons for this, it’s always best to stay on the safe side and call a registered gas fitter right away if you smell gas.

Yes, direct sunlight and heat are not a problem and won’t affect our LPG gas bottles. They are specifically designed for this. Our gas bottles are safe and built to last. They are regularly maintained and checked and fit for purpose in New Zealand’s weather.

If the gas bottles are stored upright and located in a well-ventilated area, they will be perfectly fine and safe to use for several years. If you have ordered gas for your holiday home and there’s gas left in the bottle when you leave, it will be completely safe to use next summer. Only using small amounts of gas at a time is also not a problem.

Most customers rent their gas bottles. We take responsibility for maintaining and delivering them, which ensures the safety of the gas bottles and is easy for you.  If you are leaving your property, it is important that you let us know so we can cancel the cylinder rental in place.

According to health and safety regulation guidelines, the gas fitter will recommend the best location for your gas bottle cylinders. There are some legal requirements we must abide by, and we will explain these to you.

No problem. We will still deliver. Our team will get in touch with you if they need to but otherwise, they’ll go right ahead and deliver your gas. Please note, if you have a security gate with a code, we’ll need to know. Also, if you have a dog onsite it will need to be secured.

If gas bottles are lost, damaged or stolen, please ring our friendly customer service team right away. As per our Ts& Cs, you are responsible for the cost of the rented cylinders, but your insurance company should cover the cost.

Yes, but we need to know about it. Unsecured dogs can be a risk for our delivery team and the safety of our staff must be guaranteed. Please leave your dog inside or secured with a leash when we arrive. It’s always best to avoid issues. If your dog isn’t restrained and our drivers feel there could be a threat, your delivery will not go ahead.

Please check our delivery map to see where our team delivers to, or feel free to give us a call on 07 8277 456 to speak with our customer service team.

Please let us know if you are moving so that we can collect our cylinders and cancel your account. Each cylinder will be weighed for residual gas and if any, will be credited back to you. We will also credit back any unused rental (if applicable). If you choose to “gift” any remaining gas to the new occupants, they will need to open an account with us – accounts cannot be transferred over to another person. Once they have opened an account, we can then cancel yours.
